The Family! All Wrapped Up in Each Other!
A big shout of gratitude to each and every one of you who’ve blessed us with personal friendship, and supported our business in 2014. You mean the world to us—our holiday will shine a little brighter this year because of YOU. We thank you and we wish you the kind of moments you’ve been dreaming of. We pray for a holiday filled with joy, good health and the gift of loved ones.
We’re pretty sure you’ll agree that life today is crazy busy. We lead scattered, frenzied lives running in many different directions trying to keep up with the demands of work, {the Joneses—haha!}, family activities, household chores, social events, and we attempt to balance it all with much needed personal time, FaceBook time—and you name it. It’s really insane sometimes, right? We may even feel like we’re losing our minds in our effort to keep up the frantic pace. Is the craziness really worth it?
Our pursuit of “enough time” is relentless—and yet just when we think we’re close to grabbing some, away it slips as something else distracts us or grabs our attention. As a society, we’re all wrapped up in “doing” things – and buying stuff! And yet many of us are frustrated by this cycle of continuous activity, with little time to catch our breath let alone snatch a few moments to simply “be” {we’re human beings after all – not human doings!}. Yet our hearts and souls yearn for the very thing that seems so illusive – time to enjoy life, to live in the moment – to just BE!.
Even when we have a few minutes over dinner, or a little while to relax at home, what are we doing? Checking our phones, logging on to FB to see what everyone else is doing—and often we miss the best present—the gift of a someone’s presence—their time and company, as we tune them and our surroundings out, and get all wrapped up in our virtual world online or on the phone. We allow ourselves to be distracted by far off thoughts of all we should be doing {we know—we do it too!} instead of focusing on the “here and now”. Some of us are so intent on getting that “selfie” to record the moment for someone else to see, or to remember later, that we fail to enjoy the very moment we’re falling over ourselves to capture on film. It’s insane!!
This holiday, let’s give the greatest gifts of all. How about we give ourselves the gift of being—of living right in the moment. Then let’s give those we love the gift of ourselves. The gift of our undivided attention. The gift of our time. The gift of listening. The gift of our very own presence in the moment, focused on them.
This year, let’s get all wrapped up in each other!
Healthy Blessings, Anthea
