My Tooth Hurty …. Two-thirty!

Just have to share this story!  It’s too good not to!

So our grandson Brandon stopped by for a short visit en route home to California for the summer holidays. Oh my, what a fun four days we all had! We talked and talked and lived completely in the moment…..so busy enjoying our activities and quality time together that we neglected to share our joy  with the rest of the world … just now got pictures up on social media 🙂

FullSizeRenderBack to the story.  We ended our day out yesterday at the Cheesecake Factory to nourish our hungry bodies with some healthy food.  We were getting very “h’angy” … hungry!!  Sorry! It’s an inside joke really – the Tripps don’t fare well on empty stomachs – you might say we get a little gnarly if we go too long without food.  Yes … we chose wisely – grilled salmon, mashed potatoes and broccoli! NO! We did NOT eat dessert.

We did eat bread however and that’s when it happened! No sooner was the dark rye in my mouth than I felt a foreign-feeling sharp object pierce the inside of my cheek. “Oh no!  Please don’t let it be a piece of glass!” I thought to myself, as I fled for the ladies room. On further examination, it appeared to be a part of one of my back teeth. Yep – a piece just cracked off a tooth that had been filled years ago!  Good news! There’s always a pony in the crap!  I’ll be officially named “Queen” for a day. Will be requiring a crown! UGH!

My two handsome escorts looked anxiously at me when I returned to the table not knowing what I’d discovered, although the evidence left on my plate was a bit of a giveaway so they had a clue as to what it was. I confirmed their suspicions and Brandon asked if my tooth hurt! Admittedly, it was a little uncomfortable and I mentioned I’d have to make an appointment with my dentist first thing in the morning.  Brandon made us laugh and certainly lightened the mood when he made a joke by saying “I was just thinking about saying “two-thirty” {tooth-hurty – get it???}

It doesn’t end there!  This morning I called my dentist and they have scheduled me in this afternoon.  The time they offered me?  You guessed it. Two-thirty p.m…… Funny thing is, the association still didn’t resonate with me until I told Brandon the time of my appointment.  He thought I was cracking a joke! No seriously Grandma … “tooth-hurty?”  We literally ALL three of us cracked up laughing at the joke again and the coincidence of it all!!!

It’ll be a long time before we forget this incident and the 2:30 p.m. connection!  Brandon you are brilliant!  So blessed you’re in our family and our life!!!
